A treatment directed at hair growth
Minoxidil can help improve hair density in androgenetic, or pattern, hair loss. Human studies have assessed scalp hair counts and photographs with both oral and topical treatment. The cause of thinning still matters: a gradual pattern of loss, sudden shedding and an inflamed scalp can call for different assessments before a prescription is chosen.
Compare the practical differences between forms
The topical is applied to the scalp, while the oral tablet acts throughout the body. A scalp preparation may suit someone who prefers local application; a tablet may be considered when a topical routine is difficult. IAM's topical adds a copper peptide, so review all ingredients, scalp sensitivity and any other hair products with your provider.
Track your scalp and how you feel
Comparable scalp photographs can help track changes over time. Tell your clinician about unwanted facial or body hair, headaches, dizziness or swelling. Before oral treatment, review heart or kidney disease, blood pressure and other medicines. Chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting or rapidly increasing swelling need urgent medical assessment; oral minoxidil's label includes a serious warning about fluid around the heart.
Research and product information
Oral minoxidil for hair loss is off-label. Trials of oral or standard topical minoxidil do not establish an added benefit from IAM's GHK-Cu combination. Oral treatment has systemic effects, including cardiovascular risks, that require individual review.
